JUMP TO:
Join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center as the extraordinary dancers return with electrifying new works and cherished audience favorites, December 2, 2026–January 3, 2027. It wouldn’t be the holidays at City Center without Ailey, and this season promises all the passionate artistry, technical brilliance, and inspiration that make an Ailey performance a singular experience.
Under Daria L. and Eric J. Wallach Artistic Director Alicia Graf Mack, tradition and innovation seamlessly align. This season features two astounding world premieres: Power of Love by Jamar Roberts is a celebration of R&B legend Luther Vandross with an original score built from his hits, in recognition of what would have been his 75th birthday. Yue Yin has a yet-to-be-titled work that fuses traditional Chinese folk dance with her original contemporary FoCo Technique™.
The company premiere of William Forsythe’s most celebrated work, In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, marks the first time the work will be performed by a modern dance-based company.
Plus, enjoy new productions of two repertory classics: Alvin Ailey’s Pas De Duke (still fresh 50 years after its premiere) and Judith Jamison’s Hymn (not seen in more than 15 years). Come see these works along with returning favorites including Alvin Ailey’s Cry and Revelations, the company’s calling card and the ultimate anthem to resilience and joy.
Programs, casting, and prices are subject to change without notice.
