Join Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center as the Company’s extraordinary dancers bring to life world premieres and new productions by numerous choreographers for whom Alvin Ailey paved the way, reminding us that dance is both a reflection of our past and a guide to our future.

Interim Artistic Director Matthew Rushing presents Sacred Songs, which resurrects and reimagines the spirituals used in the original version of Alvin Ailey’s seminal Revelations that were later omitted. Finding Free, by former Company member Hope Boykin, is an exploration into the sources of people’s personal freedoms, with an original score by Matthew Whitaker. Former Company member Jamar Roberts’ Al-Andalus Blues is set to music by Roberta Flack and Miles Davis. Many Angels by Lar Lubovitch, known for his lush choreography and musicality, is his first world premiere for the Company. The season will also include the 25th anniversary return of Ronald K. Brown’s blockbuster Grace, and a new production of Elisa Monte’s mesmerizing Treading.
