Company member Gary DeLoatch’s Research, an ensemble ballet set to jazz music, concerns “the balance of power between the states of mind and the senses." Two teams of five dancers each represented “The Senses” and “States of Mind.” The New York Times called it “philosophy spiked with science fiction,” and praised it for having “contained much to surprise the eye and tickle the funnybone.”
