Icon & Hall of Famer Stanley DeVaughn a.k.a. Stan Elle as he is affectionately known in the underground ballroom scene, is a highly awarded individual in the ballroom community.
Ballroom culture was pioneered in 1968 here in New York City by Black transwoman Crystal Labeija in response to racism within New York’s LGBTQ+ community. Stan Elle joined the scene in 1989 and proudly represents ballroom today.
Treasured for his dedication, leadership, and wealth of experience both in the United States and abroad, Stan previously served as the international overall father of the Royal House of Milan before founding and becoming overall father of the International House of Elle as of 2022.
Stan Elle has performed across the world in Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Finland, and more.
Stan Elle is known as one of the top contenders and judges in ballroom competition and is extremely fluid in its foundation, essence, and category aesthetics (New Way, Old Way, Vogue Fem, Runway, Hands performance, Arms Control, Fashion, etc.).
Stan has been a featured artist in a plethora of fashion editorials, television shows, runway shows, ad campaigns, and concert performances worldwide with clients such as New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Nike, FX’s Pose, America’s Next Top Model, Vogue Poland, Timeout Magazine, Karole Armitage’s ‘The Predators Ball’, Barbra Tucker, and many more.
