Kris World

Kris World, a native of Milwaukee, WI, began training as a dancer at the William Reilly Academy of Ballet at age seven. She studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and at The Ailey School, where she also taught. She studied African dance under the direction of the Ko-Thi Dance Company, and as a member of that company participated in BAM's DanceAfrica festival. In 1986, she performed in the Broadway production Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope with the North Carolina Black Repertory Company. World performed in Stevie Wonder's World Characters Tour 1988-89. She served as a guest choreographer for Artistic Director Emerita Judith Jamison’s The Jamison Project.
