Revelations Celebration Workshop

Step into the world-famous choreography of Alvin Ailey’s masterpiece in the Revelations Celebration Community Workshop, hosted by the Evans Center for African American Studies and taught by dance educators from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Learn excerpts from Mr. Ailey's enduring classic with your community, paying homage to African American heritage and reflecting the “blood memories” of Ailey’s childhood in rural Texas and the Baptist Church. 

This workshop will take place outside in the museum’s courtyard and will be accompanied by a live percussionist and props from the show. Participants are encouraged to dress according to the weather, in comfortable athletic clothes and shoes they can move in. Participants must RSVP by emailing Andreia Wardlaw at [email protected].
