Introduction to the Ailey Teacher Certification Program: Ailey Horton Technique

Join us for the Ailey Teacher Certification Program: Ailey Horton Technique introductory workshop on August 8 and 9, 2026 from 9am–5pm at The Joan Weill Center for Dance!

Through observation and guided practice, participants will explore, experiment, and experience elements of the ATC program including historical material, the investigation and internalization of the technique's progression, and the essential interplay of music with the technique. Instructor feedback and peer creation will offer a window into the full 32-week certification course of study, including multiple learning modalities, video content creation, lesson plans, lectures, group discussions, and ongoing support from experts in the field. 

We encourage you to apply if you are a teacher who is curious about the ATC program and how it fosters the highest level of expertise in the Ailey Horton technique. This includes, but is not limited to:
