Criteria
Prospective students must first audition in person or by video to be considered for a scholarship. Students must re-audition annually if they wish to continue their enrollment in the Scholarship Program.
Scholarship candidates should have a minimum of five years of consistent training and demonstrate an intermediate-to-advanced level in ballet and modern. In addition, candidates must possess a keen sense of musicality, strong artistic performance qualities, and advanced proficiency in multiple techniques to meet the demands of the school’s rigorous training. The Scholarship Program is our most competitive program and inspires students to achieve their highest potential.
Students must register for an audition or upload their video audition with their application and $30 application fee in the Admissions Portal.
Students must be program age by the start of the program (not audition date) to be eligible for acceptance.
Participation Fees
$720 ($360 per semester)
$1020 ($510 per semester)
Scholarship awards cover tuition only. Students pay nominal participation fees. Housing costs are the sole responsibility of the award recipient. Does not include other fees: $30 Audition fee (one time), $50 international student fee (one time), $65 registration fee (annually), and $135 physical therapy fee (2x a year, for each semester).
All fees are subject to change. All fees and required deposits are non-refundable. Refunds, if applicable, will be pro-rated according to The Ailey School's published refund policy. To obtain an official withdrawal, students must submit a Withdrawal Form to their Faculty Advisor, who will then submit it to the School directors. Charges will be assessed according to the student's last date of attendance and the School's published refund policy.
Federal Financial Aid is not available for students in the Scholarship Program. Only qualifying Certificate and Independent Study Program students may apply for Federal Financial Aid.

Summer Video Audition Deadline
Two weeks after acceptance notification, full payment of your Scholarship Participation fee and Registration fee is required to guarantee your space in the intensive. Acceptance to the program alone does not guarantee a space!
May 9: The final deadline to make payments. However, space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no guarantee that the Summer Intensive and housing will not fill before the final payment deadlines. Therefore, early payment is strongly recommended.
A $75 Late Fee applies for payments received after 4:00pm (Eastern Standard Time) on May 9.

FAQs
Yes, international students who live outside of the US may submit a video audition. Students should contact the International Student Advisor for guidance on the correct visa to obtain for short-term, avocational study in the US.
Yes. The Ailey School offers limited subsidized housing at the Ludlow Residence for students 17 years and older.
Yes, students are required to adhere to the dress code and etiquette guidelines listed in the Student Handbook. Students may be asked to observe class if they are not in the required dress code.
Students may order dancewear needed for classes online or by visiting The Ailey Boutique located inside The Ailey School. Boutique hours are Monday-Friday 11am-7pm and Saturday 9am-4pm.
