Alvin Ailey choreographed this brief quartet for an earth goddess and three suitors to Igor Stravinsky’s “Symphonies of Wind Instruments”. The work, danced entirely behind a scrim, continued Mr. Ailey’s fascination with blending ballet technique, Graham technique, and Black social dances.
