Donald McKayle’s ballet is a patchwork of seven sections, each beginning with projected images of nature—trees, fields, sea and streams, ice and snow. The dancers in each section are personifications of these natural phenomena. The music contains Spanish overtones and clear Indian rhythms, lending an impressionistic aura to the dance.
