Luz is a Dominican-American artist from the Bronx. She began her formal training at the age of 12 in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap at the Bronx Dance Academy, with continued training at the Dance Theatre of Harlem from 2009-2012. At SUNY Purchase College, she studied performance art management while continuing to hone her technique and beginning to explore new styles, such as hip hop and streets stilettos. But it was in the years that followed college where she found her true practice and singular artistry when joining her first house within the vogue ballroom community; her place in the community was made official in 2018 when she debuted at her first ball, continuing to dance and compete in a variety of categories ever since. Luz has starred in campaigns for Be True Nike, Adidas, and Jeremy Scott, and appeared on Ryan Murphy’s Pose, season 1 & 2. You can catch her most recent television work on the 2022 season of Legendary, the HBO max hit voguing show, where she placed as the semi-finalist house in the final two competing teams.
