James Gilmer

James Gilmer (Pittsburgh, PA) trained at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, the Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School, Point Park University, and the Chautauqua School of Dance. After graduating from high school, he performed with Texture Contemporary Ballet, then joined Cincinnati Ballet where he performed under the direction of Victoria Morgan for six seasons. Gilmer also performed and toured as a member of Amy Seiwert’s Imagery and ODC/dance based in San Francisco. He has performed in both of New York City Center’s productions celebrating Twyla Tharp (2021 and 2022) as well as multiple occurrences of the annual Fall for Dance Festival. He joined the company in 2019.
