Join Ailey Extension as we celebrate the centennial of Black History Month and showcase the impact of Black culture on dance!

Line dancing exists beyond the boundaries of Black culture, but much of synchronized dance has roots in the African Diaspora and origins in America tracing back to the 1770s as enslaved people used it as a form of connection and resistance. Line dances created by Black artists have evolved from Soul Train to the “ChaCha Slide” and the “Wobble” to “Boots on the Ground,” transcending beyond Black social events and into the zeitgeist.

This workshop breaks down popular line dances, helping you build coordination while connecting with the joy of community. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned line dancer brushing up, Pilin Anice will get you moving and grooving!
