Audition for Professional Dancers

The internationally acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will hold auditions for professional dancers of all racial and ethnic backgrounds accomplished in modern, ballet, jazz, Horton, and Dunham techniques.

If hired, compensation is a minimum of $1,362.20/week for a minimum of 40 weeks of work. Additional salary and benefits, including insurance and per diem when performing, available upon employment.

The Company is affiliated with the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA).

Pre-Screening Application

Submissions close Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Invitations to audition will be sent by Sunday, February 16, 2025.

  • Applicant's contact information (name, email, and phone number)
  • Resume
  • Headshot
  • Pre-Screening Video
    • The video must be uploaded to YouTube and a public or unlisted link must be provided in the form. We will not use your password to access the link.
    • The video must be no longer than 10 minutes.
    • The video must include the following: 
      • 4 ballet center combinations on both sides (adagio, pirouette, petite allegro, grand allegro).
      • 2 solos with contrasting styles and dynamics (excerpted if necessary) demonstrating a command of modern and contemporary dance languages. Solo material can be from past stage performances or recorded in the studio.
