Join us for a preview of our 2024 Fall Kids & Teens classes!
Open house classes are open to students of any dance experience level. Students are invited to join for all techniques at their age level including ballet, hip-hop, and contemporary. Two parents/guardians per student are welcome to observe class in the studio.
All open house classes are free. Registration is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Ages 5-7
10–10:20am | Intro to Ballet with Linda Celeste Sims
10:20–10:40am | Intro to Hip-Hop with Yancy Greene
10:40–11am | Intro to West African with Maguette Camara
Ages 8-11
10:30-10:50am | Contemporary for Kids with Olivia Bowman-Jackson
10:50-11:10am | Ballet for Kids with Linda Celeste Sims
11:10-11:30am | Hip-Hop for Kids with Yancy Greene
11:30–11:50am | West African for Kids with Maguette Camara
Ages 12-17
11:10-11:40am | Teen Ballet with Linda Celeste Sims
11:40am-12:10pm | Teen Hip-Hop with Yancy Greene
12:10-12:40pm | Teen Contemporary with Olivia Bowman-Jackson
FAQs
It's easy to get your child to start dancing at Ailey! First, create an Ailey Extension Mindbody account online here or through the Ailey Extension app.
We encourage students to register for class in advance—classes and workshops can and do sell out. Simply sign into Mindbody in our app or on your browser, find your class or workshop, click “Book,” and pay for your class. Please note that class packages are subject to expiration dates upon activation.
Students are also welcome to sign up for class at the Extension Desk at The Joan Weill Center for Dance by paying with card, cash, or contactless payments.
Make-up classes are not offered for any missed Kids & Teens classes. Students may only attend classes for which they are registered—all Ailey Extension purchases are non-refundable.
Parents and guardians are not allowed in the studio for Kids & Teens classes except during parent observation week or in Tiny Steps classes.
Parents and guardians are welcome to stay at The Joan Weill Center for Dance for the duration of their child’s class in our Kids & Teens holding lounge. Please ask a staff member to show you to the lounge when you arrive or check the studio schedules to the left of the elevators for the location.
