Ailey Extension offers students ages 2–17 and of all experience levels the opportunity to take dance classes with esteemed faculty in a supportive environment. Check out the programs we offer throughout the year.
Ages 2–5
Tiny Steps & Mini Movers
Celebrate your child’s natural ability to move in an expressive way with these movement and music classes. The 45-minute classes are designed to engage children through group and individual participation in fun, playful dance exercises. Through the guidance of the instructor, children explore imaginative movement using props, which helps enhance the connection between dance, rhythm, and music.
For Tiny Steps, a parent/guardian must chaperone their child during class and participate in exercises.
Drop-ins are available on a weekly basis in addition to the session course registration—parents are encouraged to register in advance.

No classes on February 15, April 5, and May 10.

Ages 6–17
Kids & Teens
Classes are open to young dance students of all levels and dance backgrounds. Techniques include ballet, hip hop, and contemporary. Drop-ins are available on a weekly basis—parents are encouraged to register their children in advance.
Sundays
No classes on February 15, April 5, and May 10.

Our instructors are trained and skilled artists with specialized expertise in teaching dance to children and teens. Ailey instructors are dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
Pricing
Pricing for all Ailey Extension Kids & Teens programs varies depending on the time of year. Please read carefully below for pricing options and discounts for upcoming classes.
Half Session 8 Weeks (Jan 11–Mar 8 or Mar 15–May 17) | $280 |
Full Session 16 Weeks (Jan 11–May 17) | $520 |
| Full Session 2 Techniques Discount | $940 ($100 in savings) |
| Full Session 3 Techniques Discount | $1360 ($200 in savings) |
| Drop-In Class | $38 |
Drop-in class reservations may be canceled up to one hour before the class start time, which will return the class package to the child's account. If you cancel the class reservation within one hour of the class start time, you will forfeit your child's spot in class, and you are no longer eligible to return the class to the child's account. All drop-in classes expire at the end of the session.
All full-session purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

MORE FOR AGES 16+
Ailey Extension offers a wide variety of drop-in classes throughout the week for all dancers ages 16 and older. Class levels range from absolute beginner to advanced in techniques including West African, Horton, ballet, Pilates, vogue, and many others.
