Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Inc. (AILEY) seeks a part-time Social Media Content Creator to join the Ailey Extension marketing team. 

This role will assist in maintaining the social media accounts and generate high-quality content to help cultivate and engage with new and current Extension students. We are seeking someone to work 20 hours per week with evening and weekend flexibility. Working hours are flexible and will be scheduled with your manager. This is a hybrid position. The Social Media Content Creator will report to and work closely with the Ailey Extension Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relevant, high quality, original content that engages the existing social audience and draws in new viewers, including but not limited to promotional videos, lifestyle videos, event recaps, gifs, tutorials, and interviews
  • Assist in developing campaigns throughout the year to promote Ailey Extension’s programs
  • Generate content that is on brand and in line with current trends/best practices and utilizing the various social media platform formats
  • Write engaging captions utilizing hashtags and tags                     
  • Engage with our community by monitoring and responding to comments and DMs 
  • Assist with developing and maintaining the social media content calendar and scheduling posts
  • Assist in coordinating collaborative posts with partner organizations and instructors
  • Analyze and track data and trends for insight into ways to improve engagement and social follower growth
  • Stay up to date on the latest changes and trends on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as being conscious of current events and how they may inform AILEY’s social content

Requirements

  • Demonstrate creativity and documented success in visual storytelling
  • Experience creating dance content and familiarity with the dance world and vocabulary
  • Excellent copywriting skills, including the ability to write concisely and impactfully with strong attention to detail
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of working independently and juggling multiple projects
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of photo and video editing software, especially Adobe
  • Must have a flexible schedule that allows for a variety of weekday, evening, and weekend filming sessions
  • Must have their own phone to film and manage content as needed

Compensation

$30 per hour

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
